The website service

Enough website.
Properly delivered.

Start with a useful, bounded build. Add complexity only where it serves your audience and can be maintained.

Three starting points

Start with what
the website needs.

A focused page, a small site, or a deeper catalogue. The estimator makes the delivery boundary visible before a proposal is agreed.

01 · One Room

One clear destination.

One scrolling page for a service, person or project: introduction, offer, selected work and contact details in one place. You supply the text and images.

Estimate a focused page →Planning target: 2–3 weeks after materials
02 · Small House

Space for the essentials.

Up to 7 distinct page layouts and 20 catalogue entries, such as projects or books. Pages with the same agreed layout can reuse one page type; the full page list is agreed before work starts.

03 · Complete House

A deeper body of work.

Up to 15 distinct page layouts and 50 catalogue entries. For a larger collection of work, with reusable detail pages and agreed search or filters. Assessment first.

These are planning boundaries, not guaranteed delivery dates. Scope, content readiness and the available slot determine the written proposal.

The scope, explained

What are you actually choosing?

These terms describe how much needs to be designed and how much content needs to be added. The proposal lists the actual pages, entries and features.

Landing page

Here, a landing page means one complete page that visitors scroll through, with sections such as an introduction, services, examples and contact. A menu can jump between those sections without opening separate pages.

Example: a photographer presenting their work, three services and contact details on one page.

Page type

A page type is a distinct layout we design, such as a homepage, a project overview or a project detail page. Several projects can use the same detail layout with different text and images.

A section within a page is not another page type. A page-type allowance does not mean unlimited pages; we agree the complete page and content list in the proposal.

Catalogue entry

One item in a collection: one project, book, artwork or similar record. It uses agreed fields, for example a title, image, description and link. It may appear in an overview and on its own detail page using a shared layout.

“Clean” or prepared entries means you supply complete, reviewed content in the agreed format. For example: one spreadsheet row per book, with clearly named images. Research, rewriting and sorting an unstructured archive are separate work.

Useful terms before you choose

Domain and hosting

The domain is the address people type, such as systead.com. Hosting is the service that stores the website and makes it available online. These have their own provider charges and renewals; you own the accounts and pay the providers.

Responsive design and technical SEO

Responsive design adapts the layout to phones, tablets and computers. Technical SEO covers foundations such as page titles, descriptions and a sitemap that help search engines understand the site. It does not guarantee a ranking, visitors or sales.

Revision rounds

A revision round is one collected set of feedback on the agreed work, followed by the corresponding adjustments. For example: send the text corrections and layout comments together. New pages, features or a new design direction may change the scope and price.

Launch and handover

Launch means putting the agreed website online on your hosting and connecting the domain. Handover means giving you the agreed files, access and instructions for updates and recovery. If you want to edit through a visual editor, say so in the brief; that needs to be scoped.

Care blocks

A care block is a fixed amount of follow-up time to use within the stated period: for example, five hours in total over 90 days. It is not five hours each month. Tasks and response arrangements are agreed; hosting bills and new features are separate.

Understanding the price

A price should explain the work.

A useful website helps visitors understand your offer and take the next step: call, visit or enquire. The price depends on the work needed to make that happen.

What you are paying for

An agreed structure and visual design, a build that works across screen sizes, defined revisions, checks before launch and a documented handover. You work directly with the person building the site.

Three different costs

The build is a one-off project. Domain and hosting have their own provider charges and renewals. Optional care buys a stated number of hours within a stated period. Continuous monitoring or unlimited support is not included.

A smaller budget

Start with the pages and contact route that matter most. Fewer layouts, prepared text and images, and fewer integrations can reduce the work. A different scope needs its own reviewed quote; the calculator does not invent a discount.

Why might another offer cost less?

A standardised template, a smaller content allowance or fewer services can be a good fit. Compare the actual design work, content, revisions, launch, ownership and support. A higher price needs concrete additional work or value; a lower price does not establish poor quality.

How do the Systead estimates fit?

One Room starts from the existing €1,250 founding hypothesis for one individually designed page. Small House starts from €3,500 for a broader structure: up to seven page types and twenty prepared catalogue entries. These are different jobs, and neither is an approved final rate.

For a simple brochure site, a smaller standard package may be sufficient. Choose the scope because you need the work it includes. The examples below illustrate a range of offers, not a market average or a claim that Systead is cheaper.

Norway, Spain and currency

The calculator uses EUR in every language. Language selection does not change the price or determine your country. A written proposal confirms the agreed currency, any applicable tax and the work included for your situation.

A manageable commission

One person.
One active build.
A clear handover.

Direct work with the person building your site. A defined scope protects both the quality of the result and the time it takes.

  1. Define the useful version

Agree purpose, pages, content, revision rounds and acceptance criteria. Use the estimator to prepare a brief.

  2. Design, build and check

Responsive layouts, metadata and technical SEO foundations, plus an accessibility and performance pass.

  3. Launch on your accounts

One agreed deployment, domain connection and a practical handover. You own and pay for your domain and hosting directly.

  4. Choose follow-up deliberately

Optional care comes in fixed blocks. No required subscription and no unlimited support promise.

Know the boundary

A website, with room to grow.

Client-supplied text, images, rights and approved translations keep the job deliverable. Unstructured migrations, original copywriting, branding, custom applications, login systems and complex commerce require separate assessment.

An accessibility pass is not certification. Technical SEO does not promise rankings or sales. Hosting availability follows the provider’s terms.

The calculator produces a brief for discussion. It does not book a slot, send an enquiry or take payment.
